Celebrity Classic Weekend

The annual Lenny Wilkens Foundation Celebrity Classic Weekend starts with a gala Dinner Auction, our biggest fundraiser of the year. The next day’s shotgun scramble-style Golf Tournament rounds out the weekend. Participants include stars from the world of sports, entertainment, and business. Photos and autographs are encouraged!

Celebrity Classic Weekend Details

August 12, 2011: We strive to provide our guests with a memorable evening filled with fun and excitement. KING 5 TV’s premiere personalities Jesse Jones and Meg Coyle and Michael King returned as MC and Auction Readers respectively, while KMPS personality Stephen Killbreath served as this year's Auctioneer. Kenny Mayne provided an invaluable assist to this special evening. Kudos to musical entertainment Oncore for providing live music and closing out the evening with a dance party.

August 13, 2011: Celebrities and Fans will mingle and compete in our annual Golf Tournament held at The Golf Club at Echo Falls; 2011 Golf Foursome photos are now available.

2011 Benefit Dinner and Golf Tournament
Over 600 guests participated in our Celebrity Classic Weekend event. Together we raised a considerable amount of money on behalf of the Lenny Wilkens Foundation's primary beneficiary, the Odessa Brown Children's Clinic. With your generosity and support we are continuing Marilyn and Coach Wilkens' committment to help make a difference, one child at a time.

2010 Dinner Auction Breaks Fundraising Record
More than 500 guests joined host Lenny Wilkens, family, and friends in the Hyatt Regency Bellevue’s Grand Ballroom to raise a record-breaking amount for the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic, which provides healthcare and education services to children in struggling families. At this kickoff to the 18th Annual Lenny Wilkens Celebrity Classic Weekend, the crowd enjoyed an elegant meal capped with a high-energy auction and roof-raising progressive pop performances by ONCORE. MC Tony Benton kept the evening moving with style and grace, and auctioneers Bob Watt and Robert Reid drove bidding ever higher, assisted by the KING-5 dream team of Meg Coyle and Michael King.

2010 Golf Tournament Hits the Sweet Spot

Joining Foundation Chairman Lenny Wilkens for his annual Celebrity Classic Weekend Golf Tournament in August 2010 were sports heroes from around the country as well as local celebrities, serious golfers, and some valiant amateur enthusiasts. The shotgun scramble started at 10:30 a.m. sharp and ended with an awards banquet furnished by world-famous Ezell’s Chicken, with prizes for many of our participants.
